| Ex.1: Discuss the following questions in small groups:
-How do you sleep? -How much does it take you to fall asleep? -Do you ever wake up during the night? -Are you an insomniac? Ex.2: Jigsaw reading: Divide the class into three groups. Group A reads the text “Why is sleep important?” Group B reads the text B “How much sleep is enough?” Group C reads the text “What causes sleeplessness?” Before reading your text, check the meaning of the words in bold. Ex.3: Here are the questions that relate to the three texts. First find the questions that go with your text then answer them. Discuss with a person who’s read the same text. Ex.4: Find the students who read the other texts. Tell them about what you read. Together answer all the questions. Explain the words from your text to your group. Ex.5: Read other two texts. Using the three texts list all the problems that insomnia can cause. Ex.6: Write the words and practice the pronunciation. Ex.7: Divide the words into nouns, verbs and adjectives. Ex.8: All the words appear in the texts. Match them with their definitions. Ex.9: Complete the table. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being an insomniac. Ex.10: Read an unfinished story. Ex.11: Look through the story “The Haunted House” again and find some examples of participles. Ex.12: Writing. Ex.14: A game “In the haunted house”. Play the game like this. Make your sentences funny as you wish. Remember to use –ing form.
