Video about protected areas

Divide the class into 3 groups. What do you think is the most beautiful place in Kazakhstan? Have you been to …..?

New lesson

What do you think about it? Look at the poster with the title ‘ The Earth needs you’. If we don’t protect it, we’ll lose it. Students give their answers.

Introduce the world environment and practice the pronunciation:[ in vairәnmәnt]

All the things around us are parts of our environment. Some of those things below:

Cloud, rain, car, plant, home, fish, bird, people, broken bottle etc. People are doing harmful things, to our land, our water and even our air. They are making pollution.

Give students a moment to look at the picture and think about the things they can see.

  • Can of lemonade, soft drink, baked beans
  • Bottle of milk, mineral water, wine
  • Bag of oranges, potatoes, sweets,
  • Packet of biscuits, butter, sugar
  • Carton of fruit juice, ice cream
  • Box of tissues, eggs .

Now we shall do some group work. Work in groups of three.

The first group . You must answer the questions What is the environment? How many words can you remember for things in the environment?

The environment is:

  • Humans and human activity
  • The air around the Earth
  • The climate and weather
  • Rocks and soil
  • Animals and where they live
  • Trees, plants, and flowers
  • The water in our rivers, seas, and oceans

The second group-Stopping Litter. Look at the picture and and express your opinions. Do experiment .

  • When you are at a beach, pond or marsh or on the ocean , don’t put the wrong things in the water.
  • Some things may sink. People and animals will not know what is in the water.
  • Many things will end up on the shore. Then our land will not be beautiful anymore. I am jumping up and down because I am angry. It is sad to see trash in, on, or near the water.
  • The burning of oil makes smoke that has sulphur dioxide in it. Some more sulphur dioxide can make people sick.

The third group-How can we help the environment? Share your ideas.

  • We should recycle bottlesand cans
  • We mustn’t go everywhere by car.
  • We must put cans and paper in the recycling bins.

Ok , thanks for everyone.

So, if you are ready, we’ll continue our lesson with grammar revision. You know that modal verbs are used to show the speaker’s attitude toward the actions or state indicated by the infinitive.

We use should or shouldn’t when we give advice. We use must or must not for rules and obligations. Ok we shall do some work from bilimland sites.

What is the environment?6 thinking hats

The white hat –the facts, just the facts

The Environmentis : All the things around us are parts of our environment.

The yellow hat –symbolizes brightness and optimism, explore the positives

Plants, animals and people need clean land, clean water, clean air.

The black hat– probably the most powerful and useful of the Hats but a problem if overused.

People are doing harmful things to our land, our water and even our air. They are making pollution.

The red hat-signifies feelings, hunches and intuition.you can express your emotions

I am also worried about water pollution in our country. Bird dropping and leaves on the roof can get into our drinking water.Too many chemicals and too much dirt in drinking water can make people sick.

The green hat – focuses on creativity

You can help to keep water clean. One way is to store it in the ground or in the tank by not using too much. Take short showers. Taking a short shower I am singing.

The blue hat-is used to manage the thinking process.

We need more laws to help clean up our land, water, and air. We also need to have people follow the laws that are already made.
