The theme of the lesson: The world around us.
The aim: Activization of the vocabulary and work on the given theme.
The main objectives:
1) Educational objectives:
– to teach about environment and English in different situations
2) Developing objectives:
– to develop pupil’s speaking skills and oral speech
– to teach pupils to protect nature.
3) Bringing up objectives:
– to teach to be healthy and love nature
– to observe good manners.
Visual aids: a multimedia table, computers, text books
The Procedure of the lesson:
I. Org. moment.
a) Greetings
Teacher: Hello, everybody! I’m glad to see you!
Class: Hello, we are glad to see you too.
– Who is on duty today ?- I ‘m. – Who is absent? – All is present.
T. Now, pupil, welcome to our lesson “ The world around us” Let’s look at the board, what you see? ( I can see…)
II. Warming –up. A poem “ Winter” by Abai.(slide-1)
Broad shouldered, white –coated, powdered with snow
Blind and dumb, with great big silver bread
Granddad winter plods on with a frown on his brown
By everything living hated feared.
T. The Greatest Kazakh poet, writer , composer Abai said in his poem about the nature, how is it beautiful and clear. He wrote it in the 19-th century. Nowadays we must speak how to protect it. And why is it the human’s main problem? What is difference between human’s attitude for life?
Teacher. Our world is big and beautiful. We know a lot of facts about it.
1) Name parts of the world ( north, south, west, east)
2) (working with map) Look at the map and name the continents. How many continents are there in the world?

Before beginning our work I’ll divide you into two groups. You must elect the captain. Each group will have the motto. The first group’s motto is “Irby”
The second group’s motto is ’Asiada ’
Teacher. Let’s play the snowball game” Build the Pyramids”. Name the continent and write them on the board. You must write first –one, second-two and etc. continents. Which group is quicker?

You know that our planet is large but we know also that it is so polluted. How we must save our nature? Today’s lesson will be about it.

T. What do you think when we say “The world around us”
We think first of about the Earth with its people and nature. The Earth- Mother- Nature. The first problem of the nature is pollution. This problem is widely discussed in the newspapers, radio and TV programs in many countries of the world. Why does this worry the people of the world.
National resources, such as minerals, oil, wood lands, water are widely used for purposes of home industry and agriculture. As a result the wide use of resources upsets the biological balance, pollutes air, soil and water. Nowadays some people kill animals for fur, oil and meat. Some animals are included into the International Red book of rare or endangered animals.

2)T. Look at the map. Find Atyrau region and Aral region.(sl.-5)
What can you say about the ecological problems of the Aral Sea and Caspian Sea?( work in a group)
Discussing 1-st group
The Aral Sea is one of the environment disasters of the world. The air has salt, dust and pollutant blown from the sea. The people of that area are not very healthy. Many people suffer from different illnesses.
The health of the people is becoming worse and worse. The government should help the people and the environment.
2-nd group:
The Caspian Sea has many ecological problems. Many foreign oil companies and our national oil company work in Atyrau region. Oil brings them a lot of profit but it destroys the land and sea birds.
The Caspian Sea is polluted. Oil kills fish and sea seals. The Caspian Sea becomes smaller than some years ago.
V. Production.
T. We live in West Kazakhstan region. Have we any ecological problem in our region? For example, lake Shalkar ?
P-7.It become much less than some years ago because less snow falls in winter.
P-8. The Shalkar lake is polluted, because some people throw the litter into the lake.
T. And how we solve this problem?
P-9. We must plant trees around the lake by the programme “Zhasyl el”.
T. Open your copy and write down the ideas about the ecological problems of our country .You may use the diagram (ex1)
P10 People destroyed forests. They cut trees. Some people build houses on .these places.
P.12. In West Kazakhstan region we have the biggest factory Karachaganak Operating Group. I think that it polluted our air and soil.
P.13. Animals killed for their fur ,skin, meat, oil (archars, saigaks, snow leopard falcon balaban is taken for hunting at home , kulans etc.)
VII. Conclusion.
T. At the lesson we have spoken about ecological problems. What should we do to save the nature?(sl.-6)
-We should preserve natural resources. –We shouldn’t be litterbugs.
