The Theme:  We know animals
Aims of the lesson:  a) practical:  to read and learn new words, to consolidate Present Simple Tense, to enable students to exploit the material during doing exercises.

b)  Developing: to develop students logical thinking, imagination, reading, speaking, listening and writing skills.

c)  educative:  to build students humaniny, to encourage being industrious, love the mother tongue and respect foreign languages.

Type of the lesson:  mixed

Visuual aids:  slides, pictures, charts

Methods:  answer-guestion, games, group-work

I. Org.moment

 

–  Good afternoon, boys and girls! I am glad to see here pupils who like English very much, who like to speak English and who like animals. I’d like to ask you some guestions.

1. Do you like animals?

2. What animals do you know?

3. Do you have animals at home?

4. What animal do you have?

5. What is its name?

6. Do you like to play with it?

7. What can your pet do?

8. What does your pet like to eat?

9. Do you like to read books about animals?

10. What books did you read?

I think you know much about animals and I see that you read much. It’s very good of you.

 

II. Where do animals live?

 

Look ! This is Africa. Which animals live there?

This is a forest. Which animals live there?

There are a lot of animals on the farm. Now let’s go to see the animals.

We are at the ZOO. What animals can you see here? The animals have got many riddles for us. Are you ready to answer all of them? So, you may think and answer together.

 

(Some pupils in masks and costumes)

 

III. Guess what I am?

1 st pupil:  – I am green, I  can live 300 years,

I am very old. Now we live only in Africa and America. I am strong, I live in water.

(a crocodile)

2 nd pupil:  – I am big and strong, I can live for 100 years. I am a very good swimmer, I have got trunks. We live in Africa and India. We work with people to help them. (an elephant).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

3 rd pupil: – I live a long life. Sometime I can live for 300 or 400 years. I lay eggs, I can lay as many as 150 eggs.But I am very slow.(a tortoise)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

4 th pupil:  – Hopper, hopper in the grass,

Please, don’t hop. Fnd let me pass,

But it hops, hops, hops and hops

And never stops.           ( a grasshopper)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

5 th pupil:  – My beautiful tail is bushy,

And the colour of it is red.   (a fox)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

6 th pupil:  – It has wings but cannot fly.

It has no legs but moves very guickly.

Do you know why?

Because it is …     (a fish)

 

 

 

 

 

7 th pupil:  –  Long ears, long ears, hop, hop

Long ears, long ears,never They like carrots, they like hop,

 

                       They grow longer from day to day.

                                                       (a rabbit)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

8 th pupil:  – My slender legs are long and quick

                       I like to run, to walk, to trot.

On, it’s great fun! Let’s run a race,

Why not?

9  th pupil:  –  I live in the river – I am not a fish

                        I sump in the field- I am not a rabbit

I  have a green coat- I am not a bird

I sleep in the day – I am not a oul.
