Words of the quiz master: Good afternoon dear children, teachers and our guests! We are very happy to see you at our competition. Today we are going to play
“A Happy Chance Game”. It is devoted to the English countries. Two teams will take part in it and there‘ll be seven games. This competition will show your achievements and your knowledge of the matter. I wish you success. Be active, honest, industrious and helpful and you will be sure to win.
The 1st game. “Introduction of the teams and captains” 10 points
Words of the quiz master: Now it’s time to introduce your selves.
The 2nd game. “Go on” 2 captains. 1 point.
Words of the quiz master: Dear friends! Now we’ll see whose captain is the best. I want the team captains come here to determine the order your team will be asking. The task is to answer the questions at high speed. Our referees are…. They will count the number of the right answers. Work as hard as you can! Every question you’ll answer earns you one point. If you don’t know or don’t remember the answer, you should say “Go on”, as your time is limited.

The 3rd game: “A word game”
2 teams. 5 points.
Words of the quiz master: Now it’s high time to organize a competition between the teams. Every team gets a card with a long word. You have to make other words from the letters it contains. The letters can be used in any order. I give you 2 minutes. The winner is the team that finds the largest number of words.
Words in the card: Education. Competition.
The 4th game. “Riddle countries”
2 teams. 4 points.
Words of the quiz master: Guess the names of these countries. Listen to the leadings’ and very attentive! The winner will be the team that gives the right answer and does it quicker than the other team.

The 5th game. “Tricks from the box” 2 points.
Words of the quiz master: I’ve got a box full of cards with English proverbs. Team captains, come here to choose one card. The task is to complete these proverbs and to give Kazakh equivalents of the English proverbs. If you give a word-for-word translation, you’ll get one point. If you a Kazakh equivalent of an English proverb, you’ll get two points. Besides, there is a “Lucky chance” card will give your team an extra 5 points added to your score.

2 teams. 1 point for the right answer.
Words of the quiz master: You know it is very important to make the right choice in our life: the right choice of a friend, a university, a job, a colour, a style in music, clothes, etc. Now you’ll get the cards with the tasks. Choose the right answer.
