THE STAR HOUR COMPETITION
The objectives:
- To develop students` knowledge about English-speaking countries;
- To develop their speaking and thinking skills;
- To train their memory.
Introduction: Glad to meet you, dear boys and girls. Today we are having a competition: “The Star Hour” and each of you will take part in it. Who wants to introduce themselves and speak about their hobby, sing a song or recite a poem? Use this chance to win your first golden star.
PART I – Flags & Countries
There are the flags of six countries: 1 – the USA, 2 – Russia, 3 – New Zealand, 4 – the UK, 5 – Canada, 6 – England.
Answer my questions and raise a card with the number of the country I’ll be speaking about. You’ll get a red star for the right answer, and if you have the first correct answer you’ll get a golden star.
