Warm up activity

Greeting: Good afternoon students!

How are you, today?

Is anybody absent today?(take your seats)

Dividing into subgroups: Teacher divides learners into subgroups using three rather different sentences. Their names are: Kz, The USA,Wales

Revising the previous lesson: Teacher shows the flags of different countries and learners must guess them and their nationalities.(formative assessment)

Main:

  • T. introduces the greetings and introductions and asking personal questions
  • T. Shows the sentences and ask the learners to use them in your own conversations (p.28 ex.1 SB)
  • 1. How are you? I’m fine thank’s.
  • 2. Who are you? This is Ben. Nice to meet you.
  • 3. Nice to meet you too. Where are you from?
  • 4. I’m from Spain. How about you?
  • 5. I’m from China. How old are you from?
  • I’m 10.What is your favourite subject?
  • It is English.
  • T. Gives them the dialogue to read and mark statements 1-6 T or F (p.28 ex.2 SB)
  • It’s time to do some physical exercise in WARM UP pause
  • Work in groups of three. It’s the first day at school. Change the words in colour to act out a dialogue like the one in Ex.1(by showing the video about introductions)
  • To listen and read for specific information
  • Direct Ss’ attention to the flags. Play the CD. Ss listen and follow the text in their books. Ss say which flag has got which symbols. T gives them presentation of the theme “Flags of the world”
  • KAZAKHSTAN
  • This is flag of KAZAKHSTAN. In the centre of the is a golden sun with 32 beams and a golden steppe eagle underneath. It also has got a golden ornamental pattern down one side. It has got a sky-blue background

UnitedKingdom

The Union Jack is a flag of the United Kingdom. It is the flags of three patron saints: the red cross of Saint George of England, the white cross on a blue background for Saint Andrew of Scotland, and the red cross of Saint Patrick of Ireland

Wales

The flag of Wales has a red dragon on it. The background is green and white. You can see this flag on government buildings in Wales

  • T. Allows Ss time to read the questions and answer them by reading the text again. Ss mark T (true) or F (false) for each sentence.
